Concerned about a child?

There are a number of things you should do if you are worried a child may be suffering, or at risk of suffering harm. Prior to making a referral to Social Care it is advisable that you gather as much information as possible to support your concerns. This may involve speaking to other professionals involved with the family or in some circumstances speaking to the child or family themselves.

The below "what to do if you are worried about a child" document provides further support and advice. If, following guidance your concerns warrant a referral then you should complete the Multi-Agency Referral and Assessment Form and send it to the Contact Centre. Details of this can be found in Chapter 3 of the Safeguarding Procedures.
